NINA - "Everybody's Touching Everybody" (Part 1 of 2)

Dear Loyal Followers of Latino-ness,

Finally, the formal debut of Latinas En L.A.!

Everyone has worked so hard to put this show together, I know I had to soul search a lot and figure out if this was really what I wanted to do with my life.

Is this what I want? To document and report the lives of others? ... In the end, I have to tell you that Valentina may have wanted to borrow my apartment, but there was something else that I wanted from her. And no, not another "chulito" that I'd have to pay out, but rather: an interview.

In the upcoming weeks, after a few webisodes, which will not include myself, I'll come back with some probing interviews. Talks that I had with Valentina after the incident you'll see depicted here.

My central concept with this portrait of myself within the series is to convey that everyone wants to be a part of a party -- even if the party is not really good for them. If I'd have been invited, would I have gone? ... Ummmm, honestly, with Valentina the peer pressure for me is sky-high. I have trouble with self-esteem, especially turning down someone so famous.

I'm famous for what? Telling the truth? Becoming a Celeb-peronality on the internet? Like that guy that cried for Brittany years ago, and got millions of hits on the web? ... Um, yeah. I'm sorry, I'm goal oriented.

Things turned out as they did, and maybe you have questions about my moral compass. Maybe you think I'm a needy, grubby, wanty, romancer of fame and fortune. And I have to admit I am. You'll see me among people like Valentina, because even though I may not have landed on The View just yet -- I've got something to say.

Last year, my boyfriend dumped me. I went haywire and moved to Hollywood... Truth is, I go back and forth to Miami. But no, I do not stalk him. And, of course, those are the words of a stalker.

I try to stay away from my ex, Johnny Tremain, but I'm always drawn to knowing what the hell is going on in his life. Why should I care? And I don't. But you just know I'll bump into an old girlfriend of mine or two and they'll alwways have the skinny on him, because he's ended up on telenovelas, and knocked up some Mexican starlet.

Look, I'm recovering from him, from a major change in life, from the downturned economy. I'm trying to make something out of nothing here. So what you see may have shitty sound, or maybe a wobbly take or two, but I'm speaking from the heart. And only a rare show on television (where I intend to wind up) is telling that same truth.

I'm the real thing. I'm proud of being Latina. They have given me the month of October to celebrate it, so here goes.

Everybody's Touching Everybody,
